Sonam Jangbu Sherpa

Director, International Mountain Trekking, Inc.

Sonam is IMT-Nepal’s Director of Operations. He is from Phortse, a small village in the Khumbu region of Nepal that is home to generations of Sherpa climbers and to more Everest summiteers than anywhere else on earth. Sonam is an experienced high altitude mountain guide with multiple Everest Summits as well as multiple climbs of Island Peak, Mera Peak, Pharchamo Peak, Nirekha Peak. A student of Tibetan Buddhism, Sonam has studied as a monk at the famous Buddhist monastery in Tengboche under the direction of the Tengboche Lama. He has guided climbers for International Mountain Guides, Adventure Consultants and Arun Trekking. He has summited Everest from both the South and North side. Sonam is a certified Wilderness First Responder from the International Mountain Medicine Center. Sonam is a graduate of the Khumbu Climbing Center in Phortse and a licensed Nepal National Guide. Sonam is also a graduate of the Central University of Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, Varanasi, India.

Phinjo Sherpa

Senior High Altitude Mountain Guide

Phinjo Sherpa has summited Mt. Everest 9 times, Cho Oyu from the Nepal side, Manaslu 2 times, Annapurna IV, along with Island Peak, Mera Peak, Pharchamo Peak, Lobuche East and Lobuche Middle, Nirekha , Chulu East. Phinjo is an Instructor at the Khumbu Climbing Center. Before becoming an high-altitude guide, Phinjo spent three years as a monk at the Buddhist monastery in Tengboche.

Lhakpa Nuri Sherpa

Senior High Altitude Mountain Guide

Lhakpa has summited Mt. Everest 12 times, and via the Lhotse Face on Everest 2 times, Manaslu 8 times and Cho Oyu, Amadablam, Island Peak, Lobuche Peak, Pharchamo Peak, Mera Peak – all many times. Lhakpa has a vast range of experience guiding climbers throughout the Himalaya.

Phu Chiri Sherpa

Senior High Altitude Mountain Guide

Phu Chiri Sherpa has summited Mt. Everest 7 times along with other notable peaks in the Himalaya including Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Pharhamo Peak, Lobuche East. He has vast high-altitude experience, with over 13 years of guiding safe and successful high altitude climbs in the Himalaya. He is a graduate of the Khumbu Climbing Center in Phortse. In addition, he was a monk for 13 years at the world famous Buddhist monastery in Tengboche.

Pasang Tenjing Sherpa

Senior High Altitude Mountain Guide

Pasang Tenjing Sherpa has guided climbers on Mt. Everest 8 times both from the North and South face. Other notable guided climbs include Mount Amadablam, Cho Oyu, Island Peak, Nirekha Peak, Pharhamo Peak, Lobuche East. He has vast high-altitude experience, with 19 years of guiding high-altitude climbers in the Himalaya. He is an instructor at the Khumbu Climbing Center in Phortse. In addition, he has summited Mt. Denali in Alaska and is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Wind River Mountaineering course in Lander, Wyoming. Pasang is certified in Extreme Altitude Medicine from the Nepal Mountaineering Association. Pasang has guided climbers for Adventure Consultants and has received a Certificate of Achievement by the Chinese Mountaineering Association. Pasang has been involved in climate change research assisting in conducting surveys and other technical tasks on and around the Khumbu glacier.
